Microsoft...Really?

I haven't even heard of Windows 7. In fact I'm typing on a Mac right now. Take that Bill Gates. All of these unattractive people (they really are) are making it seem like their idea...really clever. The better strategy would be to make competitive/actually good products instead of trying to get away with marketing for a crappy product.

Stay innovative Microsoft! Keep making new software to make more money and lose more loyal customers.

  1. First off, Windows 7 actually isn't that bad; it's an improvement from Vista. Although I dance around the phrase "significant improvement" here...

In regards to the ad, I wouldn't really knock on the 1) product and 2) actors too much, dude. If anything, all Microsoft is doing is using "plain folks" propaganda. Cut them some slack. In a technologically growing world, someone has to appeal to the common folk while Apple feels the need to --inaccurately, in most cases--display their users as tech-whizzes.

I say "inaccurately" with the utmost confidence. As a side rant, it bothers me when people are so pro-Apple as if it's going to rule the world. I'm using my iMac right now, I own two PCs....and although Macs are fabulous for design and running multiple programs at once, there's absolutely no room for personalization to the hardware. Mac-users can change the little widgets on their dashboard or synchronize their iCal events to their iPods (Windows feature....) or whatever they want. However when it comes down to it, for those whizzes who need to personalize their computers by expanding memory, changing the motherboard, replacing fans, or changing the external ports (read: engineers and the like), Windows still has to market to those people; they're not "losing" those customers.

I don't know how this turned into an Apple vs. PC debate with myself. But hey, great idea for a blog. Got me thinking.
